The Yorktown Probate Chapter came into existence in February, 2008. BIAMC founder "Z" transferred to the area shortly after rejoining the club. Being alone on the East Coast he had left the club briefly to look at other options but returned to the Brothers In Arms MC, realizing that there truly is no place like "home". Shortly after his arrival, another full patch member of the BIAMC, Launcher, moved to Southern Maryland and begin his reserve duty in Yorktown.
With two full patch members in the area, thoughts began to form a new chapter in Virginia. Launcher worked with a biker that was interested and "Z" had made some friends who also rode. Between the two, they put together a group to form a probate chapter.
For the first couple of months, the group did not wear any colors as they worked issues of protocol in the area. Although nationally a MC, due to the local climate and out of respect to the dominant clubs, the Yorktown chapter does not currently wear "MC" on their colors. However, this does not impact the nature of the club as we firmly believe that the man (or woman) makes the colors, not the other way around.
On 03 July 2008, "Z" and Launcher took three of the probates (Snake, Grumpy and Davey Jones), two Patriot members and a guest to the "Thunder in the Cascades" Rally in Western Pennsylvania. The group from Yorktown met up with the Central Illinois chapter, including the National President (Crash). After a day of "probate duties" on 04 July 2008, Snake, Grumpy and Davey Jones were patched over and the Yorktown Chapter was chartered! Stogie and Goose were later patched over at the Chapter's first charity ride, the Ride for the Warriors on 12 October 2008!
